Rob McCarthy is a children's educator, percussionist, composer, arranger, and actor. He is currently a licensed educator in Washington D.C., teaching music for Pre-K students in DC Public Schools, and performs in the drum line for the NFL's Washington Commanders.
Rob received his bachelor's degree in Psychology with a Minor in Music from Marist College in Poughkeepsie, New York. Rob graduated from the Boston Conservatory with a Masters Degree in Music Education, where he studied with Dr. Rhoda Bernard. Rob was bestowed the Boston Conservatory Music Education Award for the class of 2015. He is a licensed educator in the District of Columbia.
Rob has trained in theater, and has had the privilege of performing in several productions of Ideas, Not Theories, a children's theatrical music performance by Reynaliz Herrera.
Rob also enjoys composing and arranging music for student ensembles; his composition "Tiger's Blood" for percussion ensemble was premiered at PASIC 2013, and has been named "Editor's Choice" on JWPepper.
